What a wonderful world

I was driving back home this evening. My home was just 2 minutes away and I got stuck in a traffic jam. My Spotify playlist was on. I might as well enjoy the good music till the time I wait here, I said to myself.

15 minutes in and I was getting impatient. Just then Frank Sinatra’s “What a wonderful world” started playing.

“I see trees of green, red roses” he sang and I was like – I only see cars in white. What the heck, this jam is going to cost me another 10 minutes.

I continued my brain rant – not one car was choosing to yield. A stupid woman had to squeeze in and block a road that was empty for me. What’s this hurry people have?

As I was complaining, Frank said “And I think to myself, what a wonderful world”. What’s wonderful? There is nothing wonderful here! This is what life in a city s going to be like going ahead?? As I continued thinking – what’s wonderful in this, I saw a rickshaw with a family inside it. The 2 kids inside happily laughing, their beautiful smiles had no care about the pile of vehicles. A mother holding her child’s hand and walking by the side of the road, probably telling her a story. A grandpa waiting patiently behind a grandma purchasing vegetables on the street. The vegetable vendor smiling at her as she probably bargained too much?

My thoughts had now diverted from just traffic to other sights that I was failing to see. I then thought to my self – not really wonderful but still a decent world :)
